Beerskey with Lime. A manly cocktail for game day.
Debbie and I came up with this one as we were trying to mix up a manly cocktail for the Superbowl that would appeal to both sexes. Â We were both surprised how much we liked this concoction. Â Debbie especially because she doesn’t like beer at all. Â Not even on a hot day and it was the last drink on earth lol.
To be honest, neither of us usually like whiskey much either, but our friends at the Baddish Group sent us a bottle of Templeton Rye to make Boozy Truffles with this Christmas and we liked its smooth flavor so much that we used it in this cocktail as well.
I guess Im trying to say that even though neither of us drink beer or whiskey often, the combination of the two mixed with homemade limeade was surprisingly refreshing and we happily made another round when these two were gone.
We first made lemonade with honey when we made Redneck Lemonade that we posted a while back. Â We made it with honey to avoid white processed sugar and also because honey gives the lemonade a sweetness without tasting like its got a bunch of sugar in it. Â We used the same recipe for this drink, only we made it with lime. Â We did try it with lemonade as well, but we think it tastes better with lime.
Alternatively, you could also use lime concentrate to make the limeade or you can also use lime margarita mix with a touch of water to dilute it. Â But honestly, its simple to make your own juice and nothing tastes better than freshly squeezed citrus juice.
Ingredients
- 2 oz Templeton Rye
- 4 oz beer
- 4 oz limeade
- lime wedge FOR THE LIMEADE

This sounds yummy, refreshing yet dangerous! I’ve been playing with the idea of beer cocktails but looks like you beat me to the punch. Cheers!
How fun would this be for a father’s day BBQ!!! I would love to link back to a post I am doing, I think my readers will LOVE this !

I love the glasses used to serve this drink. Can you share with me where you got them and the brand? I would really appreciate it.
Thanks
I would love to, but they came from a garage sale so I can’t tell you for sure. That said, I think I have seen them or something like them on amazon. I would look there.
