Strawberry Red Wine Sangria
This strawberry sangria is the perfect summer cocktail. It’s red wine sangria that is bright and fruity with the right amount of sweetness.
We are about to have the best weather we have had yet this weekend! Bright and sunny and, dare I say… hot! So hot that Debbie is opening up her pool. THIS is a momentous occasion. It means the beginning of summer, the start of pool party season, and poolside cocktails.
A Strawberry Sangria seems like the perfect cocktail to begin our favorite season with. And I know all the women in our family will love this one to go with the brunch we have planned for Mother’s Day on Sunday. 
I am not always keen on red wine, but when mixed with sweet strawberry liqueur, strawberry juice, a touch of vodka, and fresh fruit as a little snack on top, its bright and fruity with the right amount of sweetness. Then I love it! Especially when it’s served to me while I’m floating around in the pool. In the sun.

That’s Mark and Kevin sitting there on the edge of the pool, probably having a black Russian… And there’s Bob standing up on the edge. This is where we will be hanging out this weekend. Maybe now you can see why we talk about how much we love our pool parties! The venue ROCKS!
The deck looks even better now. Kevin has extended it on both sides of the pool so it almost wraps around and Mark’s got the outdoor stereo mounted on posts all around the pool. I’m sure the neighbors are just delighted. Just looking at that is making me excited 🙂 
Debbie is even getting her puppy pool out today. Keria is going to be so happy! She’s hilarious with that pool. She gets right in, lays down and just hangs out.
My puppy, Vegas will walk through it, but she wont lay down in it and roll around in it like her sister. She likes to splash around a bit though. By the end of the day there’s more water out of the pool than there is in. Just like a couple of toddlers lol.
We would like to wish all you mothers out there a very happy Mother’s Day! We hope you get pampered and spoiled rotten. As you should. You deserve it!
Ingredients
- 2 cups red wine
- 2 cups strawberry liqueur
- 1/2 cup vodka
- 2 cups strawberry kiwi juice
- 1/2 cup strawberry slices
- 1/2 cup blueberries or other fruit
- 1 cup or so of club soda
Instructions
- Pour all the ingredients, except for the club soda, into a large jug or pitcher.
- Stir well.
- When you are ready to serve the sangria, fill your glasses with ice and pour in the red wine mixture. Top each glass with some club soda.
- Serve!
